Brother Linus Voight CSC, 88, of Columba Hall ,, University of Notre Dame, died at 6:15 a.m. today in St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend, after a brief illness. He was born Nov. 19, 1883 in Anderbeck, Germany, and entered the Brothers of Holy Cross in 1889. He made his profession of vows in September 1901. He taught music and commercial subjects in colleges and school in Ohio, Texas, Louisiana, Illinois and Indiana. He was an outstanding violinist and had been a member of the former University Symphony Orchestra at Notre Dame. He had been working in the Notre Dame Bookstore and had been employed at the Ave Maria Press from 1946 until his retirement, as head of the press. Surviving is a sister, Sister Antonia, a Franciscan Nun in Werne, Germany

 

Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Holy Cross Brothers Center, with burial in the Community Cemetery at Notre Dame. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday in the Brothers Center.
