SOUTH BEND - Regina E. Voorde, 88, of
Miami Street, died at 7 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Medical
Center of natural causes. Mrs. Voorde was born June 4, 1906, in
Rensselaer, and lived in South Bend since 1926, coming from
Rensselaer.
On June 28, 1932, in Rensselaer, as Regina Nagel,
she married Al J. Voorde. He died April 6, 1986. She is survived
by two daughters, Phyllis Hickey of Monroeville, Pa., and
Betty Andert of South Bend; two sons, Robert J. of South
Bend and Richard J. of Mishawaka; 14 grandchildren; and 23
great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Rosary Sodality and
Bangladesh Mission Club, both of St. Matthew Cathedral.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the
church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call
from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel
Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 4 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph
County Inc.
