Sister Maria Consolata Voss CSC, 91, of Saint Mary’s Convent died at 3:05 p.m. Monday in the cnvent. She was born Jan. 1, 1897 as Charlotte Anne Voss, in Leetonia, Ohio. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, at St. Mary’s, on Feb. 12, 1924 coming from Harvey, Ill. She was received as a novice on Aug. 15, 1924 and made her profession Aug. 15, 1926. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s College; the University of Illinois, and the University of Notre Dame. She taught in science departments of St. Mary’s Academy and St. Mary’s College from 1925 to 1934 and 1941 to 1951. Other assignments were at St. Mary of the Walsatch, Salt Lake City from 1951 to 1954; Dunbarton College of Holy Cross, Washington DC; and Cardinal Cushing College, Brookline, Mass. from 1966 to 1972. She taught science in Mount Carmel Hospital School of Nursing, Columbus, Ohio, and was an instructor at Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, Md. from 1955 to 1966. She retired to St. Mary’s Convent in 1972.

 

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Loretto Church with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Mary’s. Friends may call today and Wednesday at St. Mary’s Convent Parlors, where a wake will be at 7 p.m. today.
