MISHAWAKA - William J. Wachs, 68, of North
Merrifield Avenue, died at 5:15 a.m. Sunday in Meridian Nursing
Center-Cardinal, South Bend, after an illness. Mr. Wachs was born
Dec. 19, 1927, in Mishawaka. He is survived by his mother, Leona
Wachs of Mishawaka; two sisters, Joan Dorn of South Bend and Mary
Lou Hanson of St. Joseph; and a brother, Donald W. of
Stevensville. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of
American Legion Post 161, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360, and
Kyushiki-Ryu Kempo-Jutsu Association.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday
in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home. Cremation will take place
with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may
call one hour before services in the funeral home. Memorial
contributions may be made to Gibault Schools for Boys,
Evansville, Ind.
