Dennis O. Walker

Dennis O. Walker, 88, of Dodge Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 2:47 p.m. on Monday, March 6, in St. Joseph Community Hospital. Mr. Walker was born on Feb. 27, 1912, in McGregor, Minn., as the son of the late George and Anna Walker. He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

 

On Nov. 22, 1962, in Freeport, Ill., he married the former Elizabeth Wolheater, who also preceded him in death on Dec. 22, 1991. Mr. Walker is survived by a daughter, Annetta (Charles) Duensing of Mishawaka; a son, Richard Tyler of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, Tara Veruchi of Rockford, Ill., Scott Duensing, Laura Multari and Erik Duensing, all of Mishawaka; and by eight great-grandchildren. He was a conductor for the railroad for 50 years, retiring in 1976, and was a World War II Army veteran.

 

There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, in Gardens of Memories, Waterloo, Iowa. The HAHN FUNERAL HOME, 505 W. Eighth Street, Mishawaka, is handling arrangements.
