Martin S. Walker (Walkowiak)

October 27, 1899 - May 18, 1962

 

Martin S. Walker (Walkowiak), 62, of 2020 Frederickson St., died at 1am today in his home after a three week illness.

 

Born on October 27, 1899, in Poland, he came to South Bend as an infant.  On June 30, 1931, he married Lucille Klein, who survives.  He was an employee of the Singer Manufacturing Co. for 36 years and more recently was employed by the South Bend Country Club.  He also is survived by two sons, Richard M. and Ray L.  and a daughter, Shirley, all of South Bend; a grandson; two brothers, John and Walter Walkowiak; four sisters, Mrs. Helen Zakrocki, Mrs. Cecelia Heminger, Mrs. Stella Ciesielski and Mrs. Mary Nemeth and a half-sister, Mrs. Constance Sotkiewicz, all of South Bend.

 

Friends may call after 7pm Saturday in Kaniewski & Son Funeral Home.  Services will be at 10am Monday in St Stanislaus Catholic Church with  Very Rev. Msgr. Louis Kacmirski, of Youngstown OH, officiating.  Burial will be in the St Joseph Cemetery.

Funeral Notes

Pallbearers at services for Martin S. Walker, 2020 Frederickson St., who died Friday, will be Ronald and Robert Heminger, Robert Zenzinger, William Hegedus, John Walkowiak and Alfred Ciesielski.

 

The rosary will be recited at 7:30pm today and Sunday in the Kaniewski & Son Funeral Home.  Services will be at 10am Monday in St Stanislaus Church, with burial in St Joseph Cemetery, St Joseph Co IN.
