Richard Paul Walker

SOUTH BEND - Richard Paul Walker, 81, of South Scott Street, died at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Hospital after an illness. Mr. Walker retired as a siding and roofing subcontractor. He was born Oct. 8, 1914, in Carlyle, Ill., and lived in South Bend for 55 years.

 

On May 9, 1943, in Plymouth, he married Geraldine Weisshaar. She survives with four daughters, Michelle Otolski, Jan Banicki and Lucy Brenner, all of South Bend, and Rhea Browning of Florida; two sons, George F. of South Bend and John P. of Mishawaka; 34 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wanda Bryan of Indianapolis. A son, Jimmy, preceded him in death.

 

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home.
