MISHAWAKA - Yvonne L. Walker, 81, formerly of Mishawaka,
IN, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2008, in Miller's
Merry Manor in Wakarusa, IN. Yvonne was born on July 26, 1927, in
Mishawaka, to Lawrence and Edna (Smith) Schroeder,
who both have preceded her in death. She was also preceded in
death by her husband, Garfield Walker on November 18, 1999; a
daughter, Susan Holderread on July 8, 1994; and by her
brother, Herb Schroeder. Yvonne is survived by her daughter,
Barbara (Frank) Winger of Osceola, IN; a granddaughter,
Jinny (Matt) Otolski; and a great-granddaughter, Emily.
Yvonne and her husband owned and operated Garfield Walker
Photography. She was a lifelong and active member of Albright
United Methodist Church. She was an avid volleyball player, loved
her flowers and working outside, and the many unexpected
(pleasures) of camping and boating. She always loved her little
companion doggies.
Family and friends may call on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be on at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, in Albright United Methodist Church, 504 W. Mishawaka Avenue, Mishawaka, where visitation will also be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral services. Pastor Dennis Ingle will officiate the services, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Memorial contributions may be made to Albright United Methodist Church.
