Jacola Wallace

SOUTH BEND - Jacola Maketa (Nealy) Wallace departed this life at the age of 63 on Sunday, December 6, 2009, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center at 5:31 p.m. She was a resident of Kenyon Street, South Bend, Indiana. Jacola was born in Buffalo, New York, on March 31, 1946, to Henry and Eleanor C. (Coker) Nealy. Coming from Toledo, Ohio, she moved to South Bend in 1983. She graduated from the University of Toledo as a licensed practical nurse and also the Police Academy. With 26 years of nursing experience, her working career included seven years at the Toledo Hospital as a scrub nurse, eight years for South Bend Stamping as a press operator and inspector, seven years with Regency Place, and a year with A.J. Wright Company. She loved to work. While living in Toledo she was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Mrs. Wallace leaves to mourn her loss a daughter, Iesha Wallace of South Bend; one son, Randy L. (Bridgett) Wallace of Elk Grove, California; five grandchildren, Jermaine Wallace of Salinas, California, Cory Wallace, Jameisha Spann, James Spann and Jarell Rickie; one great-grandchild, Vanity Wallace, all of South Bend; her mother, Eleanor C. Nealy of Toledo, Ohio; special friends, Linda Harris, Denise Chavous and Linda Richie and family, all of South Bend; along with other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death along with her father was a great-granddaughter, Corina Wallace. Private services were held for Mrs. Wallace.
