Sister Mary Viator CSC, 73, of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, died at St. Mary’s Convent Friday after a long illness. She had been assigned to Holy Cross Catholic School in South Bend, before serving at the convent. She was born Sara Wall in Chicago in 1895 and received her early education there. She entered the Sisters oif the Holy Cross in 1922 and received the habit the same year. She made her profession of vows in 1924 and received an AB degree from the University of Notre Dame.

 

The requiem mass was to be offered in the Church of Loretto at 4 p.m. today. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call until 8 p.m. today in the convent parlor.
