Sister M. Claudine CSC, 88, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died at 1 a.m. today in the convent after a lengthy illness. Born Rosemary Walsh on May 13, 1892 in New Berlin, Ill. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on July 2, 1921 after coming from Murrayville, Ill. She was received as a novice on Jan. 6, 1922, and professed her final vows in 1921. She graduated from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, South Bend. She served in nursing and administration in several hospitals conducted by the Congregation, including St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend, and the student infirmary at Notre Dame. She also served at hospitals in Illinois and Ohio, before being assigned to St. Mary’s Convent in 1970. She is survived by two sisters.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, will burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Friends may call in the convent parlors until the services. A wake will be observed at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the convent.
