MISHAWAKA - Beverly Elizabeth (Martin) Walter, 76, passed away in St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend, after a short illness. Mrs. Walter was born to the late Robert Isaac and Alice Elizabeth Martin in South Bend. She graduated from Clay High School in May 1950. Mrs. Walter went on to attend college at Saint Theresa College in Winona, MN, graduating in 1955 with her medical technology degree. After graduation she worked for the South Bend Medical Foundation as a medical technologist. In May 1956 she married William D. Walter in South Bend. She and her husband made their home in Mishawaka, residing there for 49 years. Later, Mrs. Walter worked as a medical technologist for five years at Miles Laboratory in Elkhart. Mrs. Walter is survived by her husband of 53 years, William, and her two children, Amy Baim of Muncie, IN, and David (Kim) of South Bend. She had four grandchildren, Nate and Laura Baim of Muncie, IN, and Brittany and Ashley Walter of South Bend, IN. Mrs. Walter had two half brothers, Richard (Jane) and John (Julie) Martin, both of Bloomington, IN. Mrs. Walter also had two stepsisters, Jan (Kevin) Belton of Napa Valley, CA, and Sue Ellen Schell of Mishawaka. A Memorial Scripture Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 11th, in the First Presbyterian Church in Mishawaka, where Mrs. Walter was a member. Immediately following the service refreshments will be served by the Presbyterian Women's Group. Elisabed Imerlishvili of the Toradze Piano Studio will play Beverly's college piano recital pieces.
