NEW CARLISLE - Harriete E. Walton, 84, of New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2007, in her home. Harriete was born on December 1, 1922, in South Bend, to Clyde Nathan and Gertrude (Rodgers) Luke.

On July 16, 1955, Harriete married Donald Walton, who preceded her in death in 1979. Surviving are brothers, Lester "Butch" (Linda) Luke of New Carlisle and Gerald "Jerry" Luke; nieces, Donna (Jeff) Milliman of South Bend and Alexis Luke of New Carlisle; nephews, Jacob Rogers of South Bend, Francis Milliman of South Bend, Gary and Marvin Kleitz of Elkhart, Indiana. A brother, Clyde Luke, preceded her in death. Visitation for Harriete will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle, Indiana.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home. Burial will follow at New Carlisle Cemetery. Harriete was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II. She loved life and the many children whom she babysat, especially Bud (Jacob), Alexis, Kelsey and Carrie.
