Thaddeus J. Wantuck: (South Bend Tribune 7/27/1988)


Services for Thaddeus J. “Ted” Wantuck, 73, of 806 Greenview Ave., who died at 3:20 a.m. Tuesday in his home, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Wantuck retired in 1966 from M.B. Skinner Co. He was born December 31, 1914, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. On Oct. 22, 1938 in Terre Coupe, he married Virginia H. Kowalewski, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Theresa M. Turnock, of South Bend; two sons, Thaddeus J. Jr. of Rochester Hills, Mich., and Eugene R., of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Angie Strykul and Helen Zurawski, both of South Bend; and a brother, Casimir Wantuck of South Bend. Two grandsons preceded him in death. Mr. Wantuck was a member of the church and a veteran of World War II.
