Anthony Wartha. Anthony Wartha, 13 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wartha, 1319 South Scott street, died at 4 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, following a short illness of pneumonia. He is survived by his parents and the following brothers and sisters: Mary, Theresa, Elizabeth, Catherine, Anna and Edward, all residing at home and Joseph of Syracuse, N.Y.

Funeral services for Anthony Wartha, 1319 South Scott street, were held today at 9 a.m. from the residence, Rev. John Sherer officiating. Burial was in Cedar Grove cemetery.

Note: Anthony Wartha is son to Lawrence and Mary (Nemeth) Wartha. In 1927, the parents used the given name again for another son, Anthony L. Wartha. (Using the same given name for a child that died earlier is a common practice in the earlier years of the 1800 through 1900s.)
