MISHAWAKA - Ray L. Waterman Jr., 63, of 56421 Elm Ave., died at 1:50 a.m. today in St. Joseph Hospital following an illness. Mr. Waterman retired from Uniroyal in 1992 after 44 years of service. He was born June 18, 1930, in Mishawaka, and was a lifelong area resident.

On Sept. 1, 1984, in South Bend, he married Dorothy. She survives with two daughters, Carol Stout and Anna Waterman, both of South Bend; two sons, Ray L. III of Fort Myers, Va., and James A. of South Bend; two stepdaughters, Patricia Newcomb of Petal, Miss., and Joyce Skaggs of Mishawaka; two stepsons, Paul Thompson of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Robert Thompson of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren; a sister, June Waterman of Mishawaka; and a brother, John of South Bend. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 2083, Local of Moose Lodge 1262, and American Legion Post 161.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners.
