NEW CARLISLE - Ethel H. Watkins, 72, of Indiana 23, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend.

Mrs. Watkins was born June 23, 1923, in South Bend. On April 7, 1943, in South Bend, as Ethel Holcomb, she married Ernest Watkins. He survives with a daughter, Suzanne Schmeltz of North Liberty; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Surpas of North Liberty and Dorthy Gaut of South Bend.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, South Bend. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
