John F. Wegner

SOUTH BEND - John F. Wegner, 90, of Healthwin Hospital, formerly of Arrowhead Drive, died at 7:05 a.m. Saturday in the hospital. Mr. Wegner retired in 1977 from Allied Stamping and also worked at Studebaker Corp. He was born May 22, 1905, in South Bend.

On July 21, 1924, in South Bend, he married Helen Matela. She survives with three daughters, Betty Jane Cutler of South Bend, Rita Marie Smith of Alex City, Ala., and Sylvia Balta of Valparaiso; a son, Richard of South Bend; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Joseph of South Bend. Two children preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or Healthwin Hospital.
