Irene E. Weil, 74, of Indiana 331, South Bend, Ind., died after an illness on Monday, July 28, in her son's residence on Dudley Drive, Mishawaka, Ind. Mrs. Weil was born on Jan. 27, 1923, in South Bend.

 

On Jan. 7, 1947, in South Bend, as Irene E. Guzicki, she married Kenneth R. Weil, who preceded her in death on July 10, 1997. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Leo Guzicki. Mrs. Weil is survived by four sons, John (Brenda) of Mishawaka, Michael of South Bend, Daniel of Peru, Ind., and George Weil (Mary) of Mishawaka; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Dudzinski of South Bend and Loretta Heiser of Lakeville, Ind.; and by a brother, George Guzicki of South Bend.

 

Mrs. Weil and her husband were self-employed farmers and she had a booth at the Farmer's Market in South Bend for 30 years. She also owned and operated a greenhouse at her residence on Bremen Highway. Mrs. Weil was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka; the Disabled Americans Veterans, Chapter 6, Ladies Auxiliary; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360, Ladies Auxiliary; and Polish National Alliance Group 65.

 

Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. William Sullivan officiating. Entombment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Osceola, Ind.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. Eighth Street, Mishawaka. Wake prayers will be at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home.
