Mary E. Weil

November 12, 1954 – May 19, 2005

 

Mary E. Weil, 50, of Wild Rose Lane, Mishawaka, passed away at 3:40am, Thursday, May 19, after a courageous year long battle with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

 

Mary was born on November 12, 1954, in Mishawaka, to Julius A. and Catherine (Bokhart) DeVreese.  She was preceded in death by her father Julius on February 15, 1999.

 

On October 5, 1974, in Mishawaka, as the former Mary DeVreese, she married George G. Weil.  Surviving Mary are her mother, Catherine DeVreese of Mishawaka; her husband George of Mishawaka; a daughter, Kimberly (Chris) Boynton on Mishawaka; a son, Matthew of Mishawaka; a sister, Lois (Al) Marks of Kouts IN; and a brother, Donald (Janice) DeVreese of Lafayette IN.

 

Mary was a registered nurse for 24 years at St Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, and two years at the Michiana Endoscopy Center.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Secret Sisters Society and was a graduate of Ivy Tech and IUSB.  Mary enjoyed reading a good book, gardening and spending time at the Bear Lake Cottage, but the most important thing to Mary was her dear family and friends.

 

Family and friends may visit from 2 to 7pm Sunday, May 22, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, where a Rosary will be recited at 2:30pm.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am Monday May 23 in St Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Robert Yast officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.

 

The family would like to give a Thank You to all the family and friends who supported Mary and her family and for all of their care and love during this long and difficult battle.  And a special Thank You to Dr. Garcia and the Nursing Staff who were so kind and caring through our Mary’s courageous battle.
