John J. Weinkauf

John (Stub) Weinkauf, 84, died at 1:40 a.m. today in the River Park Nursing Home, South Bend, where he had been a patient for only a few days. 

 

He was born in Mishawaka, May 8, 1889, and had lived here until about a year ago when he went to reside with a niece, Mrs. Harry Johnson, 4009 W. Washington Ave, South Bend.  He had been a farmer until he retired in 1950. 

 

He is survived by several other nieces and nephews.  Friends may call in the Thallemer-Geothals Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Thursday.  He was a member of the Independent Order of Foresters.

Funeral services for John Weinkauf, 84, of 4009 W. Washington Ave., South Bend, formerly of Mishawaka, who died Tuesday, will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph’s Church.  Very Rev. Msgr. Curt A. Suelzer, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. 

 

The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m., today in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home where friends may call. 

 

Pallbearers will be Steven Sabade, Garlin and Verlin Hedman, Charles Keb, Roy R. Lowman and Robert Forst.
