Mrs. M.D. (Grace) Whitmer

November 30, 1898 – December 18, 1978

Mrs. Grace L. Whitmer, 80, of 100 E. Rupel, North Liberty, died at 6:45pm Monday at home after an illness of two years.

She was born on November 30, 1898, in Liberty Twp and lived here all her life.  On October 18, 1918, in South Bend she married M. D. Whitmer, who survives.  Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Agnes Gorby, Mrs. Margaret Davis and Mrs. Martha Albert, and a son, John, all of North Liberty, 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Services will be at 11am Thursday at the Church of the Brethren, North Liberty.  Rev. William Burgess, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty.  Mrs. Whitmer was a member of the church.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to9pm Wednesday at the A.M. Manuel Funeral Home, North Liberty.
