6, 1970 - Mar. 20, 2010SOUTH BEND - Curt Whitten, age 40, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis following a brief illness. He was born January 6, 1970 in South Bend, Indiana. He moved to Lafayette in 1978 and graduated from Lafayette Jeff High School in 1989. He graduated from Ivy Tech in 1991 with an associate's degree. He was employed by New Crown cemetery in Indianapolis as the grounds superintendent and previously employed at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lafayette and Everrest Memorial Park in Logansport. Curt enjoyed spending time with his family, playing video games with his step sons and friends. He also enjoyed watching NFL football and loved being outdoors fishing, camping, and gardening. He is survived by his wife: Pamela (Pullins) Whitten whom he married June 6, 1998. 2 Step sons: Joshua Terry and Jacob Terry. Parents: Chuck and Carol (Corpe) Whitten. Brother: Craig (fiancé' Catharine Adair) Whitten. Sister: Caryn (husband Shane) Hildreth. 2 Nephews: Dexter and Hunter. 3 Nieces: Sidney, Jessica, and Lauren. Brother-in-law: Matt (wife Shelly) Pullins. Sister-in-law: Jan (husband Kevin) Whalen. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by: Maternal Grandparents: Edwin and Marguerite Corpe. Paternal Grandparents: Morris and Mary Whitten. Sister-in-law: Rachelle Whitten. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Grace United Methodist Church 615 North 22nd Street Lafayette, IN 47904 with Rev. Joe Hornick officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Grace United Methodist Church 615 North 22nd Street Lafayette, IN 47904. Entombment will take place at Resthaven Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Riley Children's Hospital.
