Sister Mary Agnetis CSC, 87, of St. Mary’s Convent died in the convent early Tuesday eveninmg after an extended illness. She was born Agnes Teresa Wickey on Jan. 9, 1890 in Plymouth and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on April 20, 1908, making her profession of vows on Aug. 15, 1910. She was assigned to teaching throughout her community life. She taught at Assumption School here and at schools in Utah, Illinois, California and Idaho, before returning to St. Mary’s Convent in 1962. She served as exucive housekeeper at the convent from 1962 until Illinois forced her to retire in 1972.

 

Friends may call today and Thursday in St. Mary’s Convent parlors, where a rosary will be recited at 7:15 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus.
