Lewis I. Williams

June 28, 1902June 21, 1979

 

Lewis I. Williams, 76, of 931 Emerson, died at home Thursday, apparently following a heart attack.  He was employed by the Studebaker Corp and retired from Coppes Cabinet Co, Nappanee.

 

Williams was born on June 28, 1902, in South Bend, where he lived most of his life.  On June 27, 1941, in LaPorte, he married Clementine Matuszkiewicz, who died on January 6, 1973.  Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Voss and Mrs. Kathryn Freshour, both of South Bend, and Mrs. Jennie Miller of Detroit MI, and four brothers, Clarence, Frederick, Vernon and Charles, all of South Bend.

 

Services will beat 2pm Saturday in the Guisinger Colonial Chapel, with Rev. John D. Hall, pastor of the Southlawn United Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

 

Friends may call from 7 to 9pm today and from 10am until noon Saturday.  Williams was an Army veteran of WW II and a member of Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 6.
