Nov. 7, 1932 - Dec. 23, 2008

South Bend Tribune 12/29/2008
SOUTH BEND - Lillian Marie Williams was born in Helena, Arkansas, on November 7, 1932, to Cornelius and Alline (Johnson) Williams. At 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, in South Bend, Indiana, Lillian departed this life suddenly in her residence. "Marie," as she was lovingly called by family and friends, moved to Detroit, Michigan, at the age of nine where she resided until relocating to South Bend in 1992 with her mother, the late Alline Williams, her son, Kelvin Williams, and grandson, Alin Williams. Marie was employed for 24 years as a nursing assistant in a convalescent care center in Detroit, Michigan. She prided herself on giving the best care possible to her patients by going an extra mile when performing her duties. In 1987 she retired due to health conditions. Marie, a loving person with a wonderful sense of humor, will be missed by all who knew her. She was a loyal daughter, mother and grandmother. Lillian Marie Williams leaves behind to mourn her son, Kelvin Williams; grandson, Alin Williams; an aunt, Ruby Kemp of Detroit; cousins, Carl (Jenny) Kemp, Seymour Kemp, Benson Kemp, Keith Kemp, Patiricia Kemp, Laverne Gray, Alma Lou (Tommy) Gigger; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Lillian Marie Williams will be held on Tuesday, December 30, at 3 p.m. in Alford's Mortuary. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 p.m. until the time of services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary.
