Margaret Mary Williams

Margaret Mary Williams, 84, of Granger, IN, died October 22, 2006, in Elkhart General Hospital.

Born April 28, 1922, in Mishawaka, IN, she was the first daughter to be born to the late Harry and Margaret (Dundon) Monhaut.

 

As Margaret Monhaut, she married Lewis J. Williams on June 21, 1952. He preceded her in death in March 1983. Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Marcia Hill in 1992; her infant daughter, Theresa Williams; two brothers, Joseph F. Monhaut and Ralph R. Monhaut; two infant brothers, David and John Monhaut; and a sister, Ruth K. Monhaut. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Mary “Peggy” (Keith) Bundy of South Dakota; a stepdaughter, Margot (Jack) Stoner of Michigan; three sisters, Helen E. Smogor of Mishawaka, Cecelia (William) Dolan of Elkhart and Joan I. Richard of Mishawaka; three brothers, Edward (Donnabelle) Monhaut of Nappanee, Richard (Norma) Monhaut and B. Patrick (Joyce) Monhaut, both of Bremen; a sister-in-law, Martha A. Monhaut of Bremen; four grandchildren, Lewis, Jonathan, Joseph and Benjamin Bundy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

In 1940 Margaret graduated high school and went on to the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Mishawaka where she graduated in 1943 as a registered nurse. She was employed at Plymouth Hospital, I&M industrial nurse, and worked for over 30 years on general duty and house supervisor at Elkhart General Hospital. Margaret was active in St. Pius X Choir and Funeral Choir, the Senior Group, N.C.C.W. at St. Pius, the 4-H Club of Harris Twp., the Widows Club, Girl Scouts, and she volunteered for Fountain View.

 

Services will be held on Thursday, October 26, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Pius X Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior. Friends may also call today, October 25, in the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, SR 23, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care or to the St. Pius X church's education center fund.
