James Malcolm Wills

James Malcolm Wills, 89, of Fountainview Place, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23, in the nursing center where he had been a patient since June 1998. The son of George W. Wills and Lilly (Cutshaw) Wills, he was born on Feb. 26, 1910, in Ligonier, Ind.

 

He married Helen K. Mueller on March 25, 1938, in South Bend. She died on Aug. 26, 1974, in Syracuse, Ind. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Abraham, Carl, Vern and Herbert Wills; and by three sisters, Ethel Glaser, Amy Mann and Zona Laland. A daughter, Dr. Beverly R. Wills of South Bend, and a sister, Helen Baker of Dayton, Ohio, survive him. Also surviving are special friends, Jeanette Wade and John and Jen Davenport. A niece and nephew also survive.

 

Mr. Wills was the former owner of Wills Motor Sales in Elkhart, Ind., for over 40 years, and was known in the community for his integrity. He had also been a salesman for RV America for 12 years, and sold commercial real estate in Phoenix, Ariz., before moving to Indiana. He was also a member of the Masons.

 

Friends may call one hour prior to memorial services which will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 28, in the Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Elkhart. Rev. Dr. Donald Carpenter, Southlawn United Methodist Church, South Bend, will officiate. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of St. Joseph County, Inc.
