Russell Wilson Jr.

Dec. 8, 1920 - Nov. 29, 2002

Mr. Russell Wilson Jr., 71, of Portage Avenue, South Bend, Ind., departed this life on Nov. 29, 2002, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center after an illness.

Russell was born on Dec. 8, 1920, in South Bend, Ind., to the union of Virgie Lee (Frazier) and Russell Wilson Sr. Russell honorably served his country in the United States Army. Russell, who was a lifetime resident of South Bend, worked various jobs as a laborer and construction worker.

Russell leaves to cherish his memory one son, Carlton "Perez" Wilson; his ex-wife, Bertha Swanson; two granddaughters; one great granddaughter; three sisters, Nevada Hugins, Katherine Jacobs and Geraldine (William) Riley; five brothers, Donald (Mary Francis) Wilson, Eric Nelson and Kenny (Linda) Nelson, all of South Bend, Dale (Beverly) Nelson of Union Gap, Wash., and Terry Nelson of Los Angeles, Calif.; two special nephews, Bernard "Man" Swanson and John Swanson, both of South Bend; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Russell Wilson Jr. will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at 1 p.m. in the Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, where Reverend Larry Davidson is the pastor. Viewing will take place one hour prior to the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary.
