Virginia G. Winnicki

SOUTH BEND - Virginia G. Winnicki, 90, passed away at 3 a.m. on Sunday, March 2nd, in her home. Virginia was born on January 2, 1918, in South Bend, to the late Stanley and Salomea (Szulczewski) Switalski.

 

On September 29, 1945, she married Ramon S. Winnicki, who passed away on February 1, 2008. Also preceding her in death were two infant sons, Thomas and Michael; sisters, Marya, Agnes and Zofia; and brothers, Joseph, Antony, Onufry, Eligius, Leon, Stanley Jr., Dominick, Simon, Klem and Edmund. Surviving Virginia are her son, Terry (Carole) Winnicki of New Carlisle; and a granddaughter, Stefanie Winnicki. Virginia was a parishioner at St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic Church. She loved to play bingo, work on her puzzle books, and feed the hummingbirds.

 

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 6th, in St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
