Edsel K. Wiseman

SOUTH BEND - Edsel K. Wiseman, 83, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at 5:20 p.m. in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Edsel was born on May 19, 1925, in Morriston, Arkansas, to the late Delbert and Vista (Lewis) Wiseman. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kelsa and Kenneth Wiseman.

 

On September 3, 1949, he married Elizabeth (Mueller) in South Bend, who survives along with their children, Marcia (Greg) Combs of Culver, IN, and David (Connie) Wiseman of Granger, IN; four grandchildren, Derek Wiseman, Jared Wiseman, Jessica Combs Beasley and Elizabeth Combs Rayl; three great-grandchildren; his sister, Kowanda (William) Holmes of Arkansas; and by his sister-in-law, Irene Wiseman of South Bend. Edsel retired from 1st Source Bank as a property consultant. He was the former owner of HW Moore Tree Service and co-owner of Custom Moore Tree Service. Edsel was in the Army Air Force in the 9th Division in WWII, a member of American Legion Post 284 and a 25-year member of Moose Lodge 58.

 

Visitation will be on Friday, June 27, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. A funeral service will be celebrated at 4 p.m. in the funeral home. Cremation will follow with private interment at Highland Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would has requested memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 460 N. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63141; or to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
