Kel Wiseman

Nov. 22, 1941 - Jan. 30, 2002

Kel Wiseman, 60, of Cobble-stone Court, South Bend, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 30, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.

Mr. Wiseman was born on Nov. 22, 1941, in Coloma, Mich., to Kelsa and Irene (Mahler) Wiseman. He was preceded in death by his father, Kelsa Wiseman.

He worked as a building superintendent in Ocala, Fla., before moving back to the South Bend area to care for his mother. Mr. Wiseman was chief engineer of maintenance for the Inn at St. Mary's in South Bend for the past eight years. He was a 101st Airborne U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam, a member of the Northwest United Methodist Church, South Bend, and was an avid Notre Dame fan. He liked horses and especially loved all of his family. He moved back to the South Bend area eight years ago, after his father's passing away, to take care of his mother on the farm where he was raised. He was a very loving man and was great to his nieces and nephews.

Mr. Wiseman is survived by his mother, Irene Wiseman of South Bend; two brothers, Jerry (Sandy) Wiseman of Schaumburg, Ill., and Larry (Bobbie) Wiseman of Ocala, Fla.; and by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 1, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, in the Kaniewski Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery.
