MISHAWAKA - Edith Marlene Wittner, 56, of East Third Street, died at 9 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, after an illness. Mrs. Wittner was employed by St. Paul's Retirement Community, South Bend.

She was born Feb. 24, 1937, in Mishawaka and was a lifelong area resident. On July 16, 1960, in Mishawaka, as Edith M. Stanage, she married Robert L. Wittner. He survives with five sisters, Gloria Jean Riffle, Pearl Johnson, Kay Holderman, Thelma ``Tiny'' England and Connie Sandusky, all of Mishawaka; and four brothers, Chester Sandefer, Sheridan ``Lucky'' Sandefer and Robert Sandefer, all of South Bend, and Fred Sandefer of Elkhart.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hahn Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m.
