Rev. Leo C. Wojiechowski CSC, 74, died early today in Holy Cross House at Notre Dame. He was born July 10, 1912 in South Bend.  He first professed his vows July 2, 1931. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame in 1935, he completed graduate work in theology at Holy Cross College, Washington DC. And was ordained to the priesthood June 24, 1939. After his ordination he served at Holy Trinity Parish, Chicago, until 1942, and then again from 1947 to 1955 and 1966 to 1975. He also served at St. Stanislaus Church, South Bend, from 1942 to 1945 and 1955 to 1962, and lived there from 1978 to 1982. From 1945 to 1947 he assisted at St. Hedwig Church, South Bend. He was assistant pastor at St. Casmir’s Church, South Bend, from 1962 to 1966, and pastor from 1975 to 1978. Most recently he lived at St. Joseph Farm, Granger.

 

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Church at Notre Dame with burial in Holy Cross Community Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Moreau Seminary, where a wake will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.
