Casimer L. Wojtysiak

Casimer L. "Casey" Wojtysiak, 82, of South Bend, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Monday, September 18, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Mr. Wojtysiak was born on February 22, 1918, in South Bend to the late Leo and Katarzyna Wojtysiak.

 

He retired from St. Francis Convent, as a chief engineer, in 1983 after 35 years of service. On November 1, 1986, in South Bend, he married Polly Kafka, who survives. He is also survived by three daughters, Frances (Rick) Wojtysiak Snowden of South Bend, Sandra (Ken) Wojtysiak Belardinella of North Liberty, IN, and Joan (Robert) Galbreath of Dowagiac, MI; two sons, Joseph (Eileen) Wojtysiak of Granger, IN, and Stanley (Diane) Wojtysiak of Anderson, IN; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; and by a brother, John Wojtysiak of Mishawaka. Mr. Wojtysiak was an Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post 303.

 

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, in the KANIEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, South Bend, where a 3:30 p.m. Parish Rosary will be recited. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. Jude Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, where Military services will be conducted by members of the American Legion Post 303. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
