Owen L. Wolf

April 3, 1918 - July 24, 1999

Owen Lale Wolf, 81, of Sterling House, South Bend, formerly of S. Wells Street, Mishawaka, passed away Saturday, July 24, 1999, at 1:25 P.M. at St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend, after an illness. Mr. Wolf was born on April 3, 1918, in Noble County, IN. as the son of the late Merle and Marie (Smith) Wolf. On November 16, 1940, in St. Vincent Catholic Church, Elkhart, he married the former Mary ''Netta'' Quarandillo. She preceded him in death on December 1, 1993. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Marilyn Van De Putte. Mr. Wolf is survived by one daughter, Lois Ann (Ed) McNamara of South Bend. One son, Michael (Harriett) Wolf of Austin. One sister, Meredith (Roy) Kuehner of Wheatland, Wyoming. Four step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren. Mr. Wolf served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe. Following his service he and his family lived in Elkhart and moved to Mishawaka in 1952. He was employed by Uniroyal in Mishawaka for forty-four years as the superintendent of the knitting division, retiring in 1980.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Uniroyals Retirees Club and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. Friends may call today from 2:00 - 8:00 P.M. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 28th, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Robert Yast officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
