Marguerite Wolter

Marguerite "Peg" Wolter, 84, of North 29th Street, South Bend, Ind., died following an illness at 2:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Wolter was born July 17, 1917, in Mishawaka, Ind., to Roxie G. and Dorothy L. (Bigelow) Zaehnle, and was a lifetime area resident.

 

On Sept. 6, 1943, in South Bend, she married John W. Wolter, who died April 23, 1982. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and by a sister, Marjorie Lou Zaehnle. She is survived by a son, Thomas W. Wolter of South Bend, and a stepdaughter, Mary Anne Scott, also of South Bend.

 

Mrs. Wolter retired from the South Bend Community School Corporation as a teacher and taught in various schools in Clay Township. She was a member of Clay United Methodist Church and loved to travel all over the USA.

 

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, in the chapel at Riverview Cemetery, with Rev. Kathy Miller Crook of St. Paul's Memorial United Methodist Church officiating. Entombment will follow at the cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. today, Nov. 21st, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
