Caron E. Wonisch

SOUTH BEND - Caron E. Wonisch, 46, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2008, in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Caron was born on February 15, 1962, in South Bend, to George and Elaine (Akers) Flake. Caron was a 1st Class Girl Scout, a cheerleader at LaSalle High School and was an avid Notre Dame Football and Chicago Cubs fan.

 

On August 21, 2004, she married Ernest C. Wonisch Jr., who was her companion for over 20 years. Caron was a loving wife, mother, sister and daughter and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Ernest C. Wonisch Jr. of South Bend; her parents, George and Elaine Flake of South Bend; two sons, Gaetano (Ana Singer) Stanisci and Ernest B. (Cathlin Brien) Wonisch, both of South Bend; a daughter, Andrea (Tim) Hoover of South Bend; three grandchildren, Bree, Peyton, and Wrigley; a sister, Laura (Richard) Banasiewicz of Winston-Salem, NC; their sons, Benjamin and Jacob; and a brother, George (Cindy) Flake of Elkhart.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. at the 1st Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. David Morrow officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
