Leroy A. Woodruff

Leroy A. Woodruff, 53, of 1312 E. 7th, died at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, following a one-year illness.  He was a hospital patient for four days. 

 

A Mishawaka native and lifetime resident, he was born on June 11, 1926.  He was employed at Black-Casteel Construction Corp., South Bend, as a construction worker.

 

He is survived by his wife, the former Betty J. Hesch, whom he married in Mishawaka; a daughter, Mrs. Max Finn of Mishawaka; a step-daughter, Tina Hesch, at home; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Bashman of North Liberty, and five brothers, Charles of South Bend and Robert, John, Gene and Bill, all of Mishawaka.  A sister, Mrs. Ester Gill, and a brother, Kenneth Woodruff, preceded him in death.  

 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel. 

 

He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360, and belonged to the American Legion Post 161 and the Construction Workers Union Local 645.
