Valeria V. Wozniak, 88, of South St. Joseph Street, South Bend, Ind., formerly of West Thomas Street, passed away on Monday, Oct. 2, in her residence. Mrs. Wozniak was born on Dec. 9, 1911, in South Bend, to the late John and Veronica (Czyzewski) Deka.

 

On Aug. 25, 1934, as Valeria V. Deka, she married Sigmund Wozniak, who preceded her in death on July 6, 1974. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

 

She was a homemaker and had been employed with the former Wilson Brothers and the Uniroyal Corporation. She was a member of St. Hedwig Parish, the Rosary Society, and the Golden Cluster. She was also a member of the Polish Roman Catholic Union and the St. Bernice Society.

 

She is survived by three daughters, Barbara (Jim) Vandygriff of Nineveh, Ind., Monica (Fred) Krol of South Bend and Loretta (Jim) Burnham of Granger, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, Bob Vandygriff, Kim Miller, Karen Agrodinia, Marge DeBruyne, Mary Gin, Cindy Workman, Sue Skaggs, and Jim, Ron and Doug Burnham; 25 great-grandchildren; and by a brother, Steve Deka of Osceola, Ind.

 

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5, in the KANIEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, in St. Hedwig Catholic Church, South Bend, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
