Obituary: Frank A. Yanez

Jan. 5, 1934Feb. 13, 2005

                                       

Frank Anthony Yanez, 71, residing on South Fellows Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, in Hospice House, South Bend.

He was born Jan. 5, 1934, in South Bend, as the son of Joseph and Virginia (Calderon) Yanez, and had lived here most of his life in South Bend, except for 17 years he lived in California.

He retired from Associates Investment Company in 1997 following 20 years of service where he served in the Maintenance Dept. Frank attended St. Matthew’s Cathedral.

He graduated from James Whitcomb Riley High School where he played on the football team, and served his country in the United States Army from 1954 until 1955. He also played semi-pro football for seven years.

Frank is survived by his sister, Virginia D. Leonhard of South Bend; and his brother, Louis A. Yanez of South Bend. Also surviving are five nieces and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and by two brothers, Joseph and Romeo Yanez.

The family has requested that memorial contributions on behalf of Frank A. Yanez be made to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.

The Yanez family has been served by the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend.
