Marguerite R. Yaste, 78, of Marine
Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away after an illness at 7:13
p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, in her residence. Marguerite was born on
Sept. 17, 1921, in Deer Creek, Ind.
On Aug. 1, 1941, in South Bend, Marguerite
R. Downham married Wilbur A. Yaste, who passed away on
July 31, 1973. She was a member of V.F.W. #360 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan L. Gray of
Edwardsburg, Mich., and Maralee A. Hertel of South Bend;
four grandchildren, Christy L. Doolen, Brian Hertel, Adam
Hertel and Maggie Hertel, all of South Bend; a great-grandchild,
Zackary Doolen of South Bend; two sisters, Lois Wilkenson
of South Bend and Frieda Humes of Arizona; two brothers,
Harold Downham of California and Wayne Downham of Peru, Ind.; and
by a stepbrother, Lyndon Swarm of South Bend.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on
Saturday, June 3, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main
Street, Mishawaka, where friends may call one hour prior to
services. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens,
Osceola, Ind. Memorials may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph
County.
