Julia Inamae Yaw

May 24, 1920 - March 28, 2005

After a lengthy illness, J. Inamae (Weaver) Yaw died Monday, March 28, in the Fountainview Nursing Home in Mishawaka, IN. Mrs. Yaw, 84, was a long-time resident of South Bend and the Michiana region. She graduated from Riley High School in 1936 and was employed at the Ball Band Rubber plant in Mishawaka during World War II. She was a retiree of the former Michigan Bell Telephone Co., serving as an operator and evening supervisor in Niles and New Buffalo. Born in Cass County, MI, she lived most of her life in South Bend and at various times in Niles, Lakeside and Benton Harbor.

 

Surviving are her sister, Esther J. (Gordon) Enfield of South Bend; five brothers, Willard "Bill" Weaver of Pasadena, CA, Charles S. Weaver of South Bend, Rexford G. Weaver of Mishawaka, Kenneth R. Weaver of Houston, TX, and Richard C. Weaver of Sarasota, FL and Scottville, MI; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Virgil; parents, Clyde and Retta Weaver; sisters, Alice Bultman and Alpha Bailey; and brothers, Carroll, Dean, Virgil, and Robert.

 

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. today, April 2, 2005 in the Roseland Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, where she was a member, 52248 Laurel Road, South Bend. Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, South Bend is assisting the family with arrangements.
