MISHAWAKA - Virginia May Yoder, 74, of Linden Avenue, died at 12:55 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, after an illness. Mrs. Yoder retired in 1955 from Wheelabrator-Frye Corp. as a secretary and was a former substitute teacher for Mishawaka School City. She was born Sept. 23, 1919, in Mishawaka and was a lifelong area resident.

 

On Oct. 24, 1948, in Mishawaka, as Virginia M. Moore, she married Myron Yoder. He survives with a daughter, Nancy J. Scheumann of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a son, Stephen W. of Mishawaka; five grandchildren; her mother, Gladys M. Moore of Mishawaka; and a brother, Donald R. Moore of Indianapolis. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 598, Osceola, and a former member of Julianna Club of Wheelabrator-Frye Corp. and Beiger School PTA.

 

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend, where Order of Eastern Star Chapter 598 will conduct services at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church, Michiana Parkinson's Support Group or United Parkinson's Foundation.
