SOUTH BEND - Services for Ernest Young,
73, of 5024 W. Western Ave., who died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in
St. Mary Community Hospital after an illness, will be at 1 p.m.
Monday in Alford's Mortuary, where friends may call an hour prior
to services. Mr. Young was a construction worker. He was born
Sept. 19, 1922, in Memphis, Tenn.
He is survived by six daughters, Ernestine Cheek
and Para Lee Plump, both of South Bend, Patrice Jacks
of Cardville, Ky., and Janice, Jeannette and Cynthnia Young, all
of Chicago; a son, Alan of Memphis; 27 grandchildren; and 17
great-grandchildren. A son, Robert, died in 1993. Mr. Young was a
World War II Army veteran.
