Joseph Zalai

Joseph Zalai, 87, of Murray Street,
South Bend, Ind., died at 7:05 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28, in
Regency Place of South Bend. He was born on April 21, 1911, in
South Bend, to Suzanna (Uyhelji) and Michael Zalai, both
of whom, as well as all of his siblings, preceded him in death.
On Oct. 26, 1935, in South Bend, he married Florentine Rhode,
who survives. Mr. Zalai is also survived by a daughter, Barbara
E. Misenar of South Bend; three grandchildren, Scott and
Brian Misenar, and Cheryl Miers, all of South Bend; and by
two great- grandchildren, Victoria and Brooke Miers, both of
South Bend. Mr. Zalai was a machine repairman for the Parrish
Machine Company.
Services for Mr. Zalai will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 3, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Christ the King Catholic Church, 62473 U.S. 33 North, South Bend, IN 46637.
