SOUTH BEND - Anna M. Zangerle, 86, of St. Paul's Retirement Community, formerly of 2618 Fernway, died at 8:20 a.m. today in the nursing home after an illness. Mrs. Zangerle was a secretary for South Bend Toy Co. and St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. She was born July 23, 1908, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.

On May 29, 1941, in South Bend, as Anna Sperlinski, she married Matthew A. ''Dutch'' Zangerle. He survives with two sons, Paul M. of Detroit and Michael J. of Columbus, Ohio; three grandchildren; and a sister, Sophie Smith of South Bend. She was a member of the church choir and Walnut Grove Women's Club.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the church. Cremation will take place, with burial at a later date in Cedar Grove Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
