Edward A. Zatarga

Edward A. Zatarga, 47, of 914 West Thomas St. died at 4 a.m. today in St. Joseph Hospital where he was taken at midnight. He became ill Wednesday morning while attending the funeral in St. Hedwige’s Catholic Church of his brother Sylvester C. Zatarga, 48, of 117 Middleboro Ave., Mishawaka, recently of South Bend, who died last Sunday in the hospital following a six-month illness. Edward’s death was attributed to a heart attack.

 

He was born July 23, 1914 in Manistee, Mich., coming here as a child. For 29 years he was an employee of the Oliver Corp.

 

He was married here on April 15, 1940 to Eva Hawkins, who survives in addition to two daughters, Mary Sue and Elizabeth Ann, at home.

 

Frienda may call after 7 p.m. Saturday in the Kaniewski & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Monday in St. Hedwige’s Catholic Church, and burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

 

Mr. Zatarga was a member of the Holy Cross Society and the St. Joseph League of the Church, and he was also a member of Oliver Local 1095, United Auto Workers.
