Sylvester C. Zatarga

Sylvester C. Zatarga, 117 Middleboro Ave., Mishawaka died at 12:45 a.m. in St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend, after a s-x-month illness.

 

A former Studebaker-Packard Corp. employee, he had resided until two years ago at 412 S. Arnold St., South Bend.

 

Born Dec. 17, 1915 in Manistee, Mich., he married Mary R. Freshley here on July 27, 1960.

 

Besides his wife, he is survived by a stepdaughter, Mrs. Beverly Kurzhal; a stepson, Jerry Fresley; five grandchildren; and a brother, Edward Zatagra, all of South Bend.

 

He was a veteran of World War II; a member of Chapter 6, Disabled American Veterans; a member of Studebaker Local 5, UAW, and a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church.

 

Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the Kaniweski & Son Funeral Home.

 

Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Hedwig’s Church, Rev. Boleslaus J. Sztucko, CSC, pastor, officiating.

 

Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

 

The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral cahpel by members of the Holy Name Society of St. Hedwig’s Church.

 

Pallberers will be Louis Balogh, Robert Dresbach, Daniel Kwieran, Alex Lechtanski, Casmir Rozmarynowski and Charles Molnar.
