SOUTH BEND – Anthony “Tony” Zdankus, 92, of Meridian Health Care-River Park, died in the nursing home Thursdau afternoon. He retired in 1962 from the Studebaker Corporation after 40 years of service. He was born May 11, 1897 in Long Island, N.Y. and lived in South Bend most of his life.His wife Marguerite Cortier, preceded him in dath. He is survived by an adopted daughter, Joan Schafer of Oregon; a sister Johanna Pazera of Palos Hills, Ill.; and a brother John of New Carlisle. He was a veteran of World War II.
